The Wharf, Orange Beach

Dining At The Wharf

The Wharf includes dining experiences for every plan and budget. From family oriented dining to exquisite gourmet experiences,  you can find just what you are wanting at The Wharf. Eventually restaurants will include everything from Cajun, Japanese, seafood and steaks to burgers, ice cream, muffins and treats.

Our luscious lunch at Live Bait at The Wharf included a shrimp cocktail, a tender steak sandwich and a tuna salad that was big enough for two. In warm weather you can sit outdoors on the Wharf's terrace along the Intercoastal Waterway. Live Bait has an outdoor bar to serve people arriving in boats or those relaxing in the shade. While Live Bait closed this location, it was taken over by a new branch of the Compleat Angler, hoping to replicate the success they've had in Daphne, Alabama.

The menu is primarily burgers, sandwiches, salads and Alabama Gulf Seafood. On the burger menu, you have the option to try their smoked burgers, but the supply is limited, so come early!
Baumhower's Restaurant

Baumhower's has grown into a favored staple in central Alabama since it began in Tuscaloosa in 1981. Bob Baumhower, All-American football player for the University of Alabama, who went on to play for the Miami Dolphins had a passion for food, and wanted to bring Buffalo-style wings to Alabama. They and his restaurant were a hit, and they've been growing ever since. Baumhower's has a casual sports grill atmosphere, with burgers, chicken and seafood. Their menu heavily features Alabama foods and styles such as Alabama Wild-Caught Shrimp, Harvest Select catfish (Uniontown, AL), and sausage gumbo with Conecuh Sausage (Evergreen, AL). On the lighter side they have a number of wraps and salads, including "Redneck Caviar", a blend of beans, corn, pickled peppers and tomatoes with italian dressing.
